ABOUT JM DESIGN

Upon graduating with a degree in Architecture from UC Berkeley, Joel Marias began his architectural design career at Harold (Hal) Levitt AIA & Associates (Beverly Hills CA). After nine years of working extensively on high end luxury homes throughout Southern California as Senior Associate/Project Manager, Joel started his own design company, Joel Marias Design. He obtained his general contractors' license in order to provide a realistic construction background to his creative process.  Joel takes pride in being a sole practitioner as it allows him the ability to focus on each and every need of his clients. His emphasis is on residential architecture involving entire new home design and remodel, but  clients have asked him to work on numerous smaller Kitchen and Bath remodels, as well as numerous retail, commercial and industrial projects. Joel approaches his projects without any design preconception, but instead allows the dreams and realities of his clients to meld with his architectural experience. He then takes the finished design plans through the engineering process, permitting and city approvals and complete construction supervision to ensure a perfect project.
